Start with observations, not adjustments
Record whether the change followed a different paddy batch, maintenance or a change in settings. Keep a sample of the input material and output. Follow the manufacturer’s manual; this guide does not prescribe adjustment values.

Know when to stop
Stop and isolate the machine if it runs abnormally or a guard is missing. Do not reach into moving equipment or remove guards while it is powered. Have a qualified technician inspect it. Replacing the machine may not solve a raw-material or operating problem.
